The Fourth Annual MMCMS Leadership in Medicine Awards dinner was held on June

30, 2025, at Saint Peter's Medical Center in New Brunswick, in collaboration with Saint

Peter’s Medical and Dental Staff and the Medical Society of New Jersey.

The evening featured Dr. Bobby Mukkamala, MD, President of the AMA, who delivered

a compelling keynote titled "Courage, Resilience, and Leadership: My Personal

Journey." Dr Mukkamala talked about his personal journey after his recovery from brain

tumor, leadership, healthcare challenges, and his personal health journey.

The event began with a networking and cocktail hour, followed by Dr. Mukkamala’s talk

and a lively Q&A.

On behalf of the Board of Trustees, Dr. Myriam Mondestin Sorrentino, president of the

society, offered her opening remarks and expressed gratitude to the sponsors who

made the evening possible. She then invited Dean Amy Murtha to share her insights on

leadership.

Dr. Mondestin Sorrentino invited Dr. Mukkamala, Dr. Murtha, and CEO Leslie Hirsch to

join her in presenting awards to the nominees.

Finally, Dr. Mondestin extended special thanks on behalf of her board of trustees to the
